Laura Davidson is an artist and educator, inspired by creative reuse of waste materials. Laura grew up and emerged as an artist in DFW, TX, and was a part of 500x gallery, The Cedars Union, and Trade Oak Cliff. She relocated with her family to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2025. Laura has managed the Meow Wolf Art Team Task Force, collaborating with a team of artists to create site specific immersive art exhibits, since 2022, to create permanent installation exhibits in Grapevine and Houston, TX.
Laura is interested in the objects that we collect and keep as a kind of modern anthropology. She repurposes paper and domestic materials into her work, both from a compulsion to create from abundant waste, and as exploration of nostalgia and our attachment to objects. She seeks to develop low waste art practices to divert waste items from landfills. For the past few years this has manifested as objects sculpted from recycled paper pulp and repurposed fabric for fiber works and installations.
